Orange Avenue is a five-piece Pop/Rock band from the shores of Daytona Beach, FL. Starting like many previous acts, a diverse group of local musicians, they have since formed into one of Florida’s largest concert draws and have been making their presence known worldwide. Borrowing from the formula of vocals, guitar, bass and drums, Orange Avenue added their own twist to the equation with the inclusion of keyboard and percussion, and the band continues to invent new devices to create the sound they seek.
The five-some released their self-titled debut CD (known by fans as the “Orange Album”) mid-2007 and returned with the critically acclaimed EP “Reset” in 2009 which featured the single “Just Refrain”– a song that has since been used for shows on the MLB Network, SpikeTV, TeenNick and MTV as well as the Winter Olympics, the NCAA Final Four Championships and Buckle Clothing Stores.
Building on their hard work and “do-it-yourself” attitude, the group has currently sold over 20,000 CDs with no major marketing/tour support. Their latest EP “Reset” garnered airplay from every major radio station in Central Florida and received press from numerous Central Florida publications as well as nationally syndicated television. In the few short years since the first album’s release they have shared the stage with The All American Rejects, Rihanna, Lifehouse, Hello Goodbye, Matisyahu, The Supervillains, Seven Mary Three, We The Kings, Anberlin and many more talented artists.
The band’s third release, “Small Victories”, is a full album that has already been described as their best work to date. Honing in on their unique blend of electronic and analog sounds and utilizing the wide-ranged vocal capabilities of Derek Anderson, Orange Avenue is creating songs to which anyone can listen and relate– all the while, using their past and present influences to make music that is fresh and exciting.
