Marketing Tip of the Day: Visualizing Your Dreams For Success and Having Faith In Yourself

success secrets from entrepreneur Jacqueline JaxIn speaking with many successful entrepreneurs concerning how they conquered their greatest challenges and fulfilled their dreams, there is one thing that they all have in common. This common characteristic is more of a personality trait than a skill. It is something that can be learned and can be easy practiced every single day. The one thing that they all have is FAITH.

Faith can be a fairly abstract concept for some people to wrap their heads around because it’s so easily lost. There will be days when you wake up with faith and one thing happens two hours later that derails your faith in yourself sending you spiraling into negativity. It’s a concept that’s fragile because the human mind is powerful and susceptible to outside influences.

But with our powerful minds, we can do great things. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “What you can visualize, you can materialize”. I can honestly tell you from experience that I been able to achieve amazing things just by visualizing specifically what I want, having faith in myself and holding steadily to the coarse every hour until it’s achieved. This unwavering supply of positive energy powered by my faith is an unstoppable driving force that can take me anywhere I want to go.

You can have this powerful energy behind you as well just be following these tips that I have gathered from the cream of the crop of achievers.

1) Set Your Goals: Decide what it is that you want to accomplish and write down the steps you think it may take to get there.

2) Learn: create a list of things you need to know in order to achieve your goal and start researching those specific ideas by choosing one thing each day or week depending on your deadline.

3) Connect: connect with people who can help you with their experience and or knowledge. Strive to connect with at least one new person every single day who shares in your vision. This may be someone who has a business in alignment with yours who may benefit from you as well if you partner up.

4) People: surround yourself with only positive people. Remove or block any negative energy coming in from the outside while you work to achieve your goal. You can’t allow even one negative person to be in your life who could derail your progress with thoughts like : fear of failure, distraction, contradictions or negative feedback.

5) Positivity: wake up every single day with faith in yourself and remind yourself every single hour that you can do this! Believe that you CAN and WILL learn what you don’t know. Believe that you deserve to be successful. Believe that it’s your time to accomplish this goal. And most of all believe that no matter what obstacles suddenly appear, they are simply a learning experience in your journey to success.

Best wishes to you on your journey, hope you’ll share it with me below.

Marketing Tip of the day: 3 Steps To Building Stronger Brand Awareness

Jacqueline-Jax-ShowDid you join us on facebook.com/AvALiveRadio yet? Maybe it’s time you joined the page so you won’t miss out on our conversation and daily social media marketing inspiration. Our tips keep you from getting lost and give you that daily direction for building a better facebook page that’s rich with content and more responsive readers.  – JAX

Think about what benefits your Brand
How do we improve passion behind our brand: Avoiding a break in the chain.

The passion of the company founders for their brand is typically transferred to their employees and thus the customer. This energy must be transferred daily through each persons actions and constancy. But with that said, if any person in that company chain isn’t carrying the energy forward, that will cause a break in the chain. I will go through more on this in later discussions, but first here are 3 initial steps to building a stronger brand awareness.

1)   Memorability: making a lasting impression is one of the most important things that drives a brand. Presenting memorable moments, presentations, and product. How do we make our brand more memorable to the employees and the people who shop with us.

  1. Framework for a strong foundation: by laying a strong foundation down, a positive brand will be able to radiate outward in the daily activities of the employees as they sell the products.
  2. Material reminders: pieces of media, business cards, letter head, brochures.
  3. Social Events: gatherings of employees, customers and new people to introduce the brand and allow them to share and experience the company’s energy in a social atmosphere.
  4. Brand memorability: is the product memorable? What can you do to make it more memorable? Advertising?

2)   Perceived value: The value that the customer feels they are getting from doing business with your company is very important. If either the seller or the customer feels that the product is not worth the price or it doesn’t offer value for the purchase, your entire brand will be affected.

  1. Make sure that you research your market constantly to align your products with your competitors.
  2. List everything that makes your product unique and different from products or services that are similar

3)   Familiarity: Making your brand a familiar piece of everyone’s every day life, isn’t always possible but it’s important to strive to make your brand important within your own sub niche. Keep these concepts in mind.

  1. The more you are seen by someone, the more familiar you become to them.
  2. People who have never done business with you, will most likely do business with you once they become familiar with your brand.
  3. A recommendation from your client is the best way to get a new customer familiar with your brand products and services.
  4. Advertising is so important to becoming more familiar within your sub niche. Ads on local buses, news, blogs, social media, physical printed reminders are all great ways of reminding people about you and what you do.

Marketing Tip of the day: Framework for Creating a Stronger Internal Business Brand

Jacqueline-Jax-ShowDid you join us on facebook.com/AvALiveRadio yet? Maybe it’s time you joined the page so you won’t miss out on our conversations. Monday through Friday we give you daily social media marketing inspiration. Our tips keep you from getting lost and give you that daily direction for building a better facebook page that’s rich with content and more responsive readers.  – JAX

Marketing Tip of the day: Framework for Creating a Stronger Internal Business Brand

Step 1: DEFINE
Define what makes your organization unique, and what values you represent. Define the target audience for your products or services and gain an understanding of what this audience needs from your organization.

Step 2 : VALUE
Define the value you are delivering to your customers; what business problems do you hope to solve with your product or services? Identify any gaps between what is truly valuable to your customers and how you internally define your brand.

Step 3: TEST THE EXPERIENCE
Expand your focus group to include a range of customers, business partners and other important colleges. How does their experience with your company differ from your brand definition? Or is it consistent?

Step 4: STRATEGY
Most importantly identify gaps between how you define your brand and your business strategy. Is there a close alignment between what you believe your organizations represents and what will ultimately help achieve revenue. Check your quality. If you champion a particular element of your brand but don’t relay that consistently, then you would notice a gap between your brand and busin

Step 5: FRAMEWORK
Developing a simple brand framework will help you clearly articulate what your business strategy is striving to achieve. A creative team can work with the company employees to develop this framework and identify all the opportunities that your brand can be communicated through creative design and application.

Notes: Engaging the brand and relaying the experience: Do the employees relay the company brand to the customer through their actions, performance and daily connections?

Secrets of Success:: Changes To Facebook and Social Media That Will Effect Your Traffic

AVA_Facebook_Jacqueline_JaxChanges to facebook that will effect your reach and traffic:

Typically it’s a common practice to post different times per day on facebook so that you can increase the amount of people seeing your postings, but recently I discovered an article that facebook is making changes to the way that a post is being seen. Business pages are going to have to purchase adds in order to be seen by more than 1-6% of their followers in the news feed. Not fair perhaps, however it goes without saying that it is their prerogative to do so. I have always said that it’s best to build up our own mailing list, work directly from your own web site and never rely on only 1 form of social media for traffic. It’s best to remember that you don’t own those social media pages that you signup for and they can change the rules at any time. This article just adds fuel to the fire.  Facebook is making moves and changes in one way to filter to much spam and reposting, but in another to make money. You should be aware of the changes in the game and adjust your strategy accordingly.

A better plan for using Social Media to market your products

Want to hear about a better plan for marketing your goods? Let me walk you through my Sunday morning research as a guide line for a longer lasting marketing strategy. Learn more about the different social media platforms and why they may be a perfect fit for your business marketing plan.

Start with your own web site:

You own your web site and all the content on it so doesn’t it make more sense to focus on improving the content on your own web pages first? Listen to my latest show where I talked with web design specialist and SEO adviser Hector Torres from Idealocity.com about creating better SEO friendly content and how to tag your content so the search engines can recognize it. Listen to the show and read the notes: http://avaliveradio.wordpress.com/2014/04/10/secrets-of-success-advantages-to-a-wordpress-website-seo-tips-getting-views/

Discover which social media platforms are best for your business.

Not all platforms are equal and not all will get your products in front of the right group of people. Some are heavier with female buying traffic, some are just for building better brand awareness and others are great to let people know more about the face behind the brand. It’s best to identify what you want to accomplish and then start using the right social media platform to achieve your goal.

Pinterest:

If you sell fashion or beauty products, Pinterest is terrific to get your message out there because its heavy on female traffic already searching for those things. Very expensive paid advertising is on it’s way and has already been tested but 83 percent of “pinners” are women, compared to 53 percent of Facebook users and 49 percent of Twitter users.  Women are more likely to interact with brands on social media, and they buy more online.  http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/232418

Youtube

is a powerful visual platform that has the potential of reaching a viral amount of new people quickly depending on your message and how interesting your make your video. But it’s no easy task to creating something that will go viral. Instead of focusing on trying to create viral videos, you should dedicate your efforts to catering specifically to your target audience.  http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/230501  For instance, I just started a Home shopping show segment on AVA LIVE RADIO to talk about fashion  and style to my fashion clients on a visual platform that is easily seen. I’m not thinking about how to make the video’s go viral, I’m thinking about providing the best and most fashion informative content I can that will solve style issues. By answering my customers common fashion problems, I have the best chance at not only getting viewed by current clients but appealing to new ones as well. Check out the show if your curious: http://avaliveradio.wordpress.com/category/jax-couture-home-shopping/

Twitter

is an ongoing- in the moment conversation where you can reach out to people and actually get a reply on breaking news or announcements. But you really have to follow the trends and be quick to act on what people are searching for. I found a helpful twitter tips article from Entrepreneur magazine that may help you get in the game . I especially loved what they said about : “Save the sales pitch. Don’t get caught up in using Twitter as a selling tool. Instead, use it to increase customer loyalty and offer valuable information to your followers. Overmarketing will merely leave a sour taste in followers’ mouths, and you may even end up losing them if their feed gets too clogged with too many promotions. Be viewed as a resource, not a door to door .” salesperson. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/230891

Facebook

is great to let customers get to know the people behind the brand. It’s not a place for spamming and just like I said at the beginning of this article, major changes have already been made to how your posts get filtered. So be sure to read the article I linked up and stay subscribed to us here at A.V.A Live Radio to stay up to date.  Basically, as I have researched, you’ll want to portray your business in a friendly, “sociable” manner, as a place where customers are treated well and “everybody knows your name.” Almost any business can benefit from having a Facebook page. But Facebook isn’t about selling.  http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/230020 Great information to keep in mind..

Linkedin

is a business to business connection platform where people are gathering resources and contacts for their businesses. It’s a great place to establish your credibility in your industry among your piers. “When a member publishes a post on LinkedIn, their original content becomes part of their professional profile, is shared with their trusted network and has the ability to reach the largest group of professionals ever assembled.” http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/231626 .. There are some awesome articles about linked in that I have gathered for you at the bottom of the page if your interested.

Instagram

This image dominant platform is fun to use but from a “marketing perspective, the community’s enthusiastic fan base and built-in social aspects make it an ideal place to connect with potential customers and build brand recognition. ” http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/226014
I enjoyed learning about these 3 tips to getting more likes on imgaes:  Keep it cool: Photos dominated by blues and other cool colors tend to garner more likes while photos with warmer oranges and reds do worse.
Master monochrome: The more dominant a single color is on an image, the more likes it could get. Pictures dominated by a single hue receive 40 percent more likes than those that don’t.
With color, less is more: It can be tempting to ratchet up the vibrancy, flooding your image with color to make it stand out. But in today’s overstimulated world, bright and vibrant colors can get lost. The proof is in the data: Curalate says less saturated images receive 18 percent more likes than their mover vibrant counterparts. http://www.entrepreneur.com/article/229901

Start a Mailing List:

Although you may think it’s old hat, a good old mailing list still works miracles at getting your message and offers directly to your customers. Use Mailchimp or an opt in subscription signup on your blog to collect those emails and stay in touch with those who want to hear from you. Keep your content fresh, updated and in motion. Make sure you are always competitive in price and offering incentives for people to visit often, don’t spam your followers but set up a consistent weekly schedule they can count on with fresh daily content on your web pages. If you want to compare the top 3 mailing list providers, I linked an article for you below.

I certainly hope that my research this morning helped you to get up to speed on the social media platforms and how to use them. There are more great articles linked for you below. I really hope you will subscribe to the web site today so you can join me again as I continue to share what I learn with you every Sunday morning and of coarse with my featured interviews during the week right here on AVA LIVE RADIO. – Jacqueline Jax

Secrets of Success WordPress Website DesignListen in now: www.blogtalkradio.com/avaliveradio/2014/04/10/secrets-of-success-advantages-to-a-wordpress-website-seo-tips-getting-views

Join host Jacqueline Jax as she sits down with WordPress Website Design expert Hector Torres (www.idealocity.com) about the advantages of having a wordpress web site. Topics will also include SEO Tips of the trade for the best results, the most important things to have on your web pages, and how to get more views. If you want or have your own website, product page or blog, you don’t want to miss this show.

best-free-wordpress-themesSome of the topics that will be discussed are:
Why do we recommend using WordPress for a website?
Easy to use for novice users.

What’s the difference between using self hosted wordpress.org and fully hosted wordpress.com? Experiment with wordpress.com with a limited web page that works terrific for bloggers but is limited when trying to sell products or using adwords. For a more advanced web site with additional features defiantly go with a self hosted web building styles: like sample: http://www.idealocity.com/recent-work/

Is WordPress just for blogging or can it be used for selling products and services?  No it can be used by anyone.

What is SEO?
Search Engine Optimization success is all about content. Be sure to keep things fresh and think about key things like tagging, tiles and content.

Tips:
1) Always use an H1 tag heading and subheadings somewhere inside your post to allow the search engines to identify your topics. Make sure to use them in order. (Heading 1, 2, 3..)
2) Use hyperlinks to other pages and posts related to your content. Never use (click here) instead type out the page title so the key words will help you to get better traction.
3) Add images to enhance your SEO listings. Make sure to use the ALT tag to describe your image. Be very descriptive including the key words only. You do not need to include unimportant words in the title like: the, and, with..

What are some important things to place on your pages and posts to improve your content and SEO? It’s important to create content that aligns with your topic. Identify your sub-niche and stick to it. Don’t diversify to much without adding menu or categories items to your web site frame. It’s very important to be organized with your content.

What are the differences between on-page SEO and off-page SEO?

Marketing Tip of the Day: Internet Radio Tour

Radio tour

Jacqueline_jax_Video_liveI was just speaking with one of our music community members out in Canada and we were planning a strategy to help him break into the U.S Music market using internet radio like A.V.A Live Radio. Although you may not be aware there are thousands of internet radio shows bursting at the seems with online listeners seeking everything from new indie music in specific genres, to how to be a song writer, to becoming a better Mom. The topics are vastly diversified and new content is being created and consumed every hour. Many of the stations/ podcasts have thousands, or even millions of listeners and the content they create stays available online for ever mapping out it’s own piece of internet real estate.

As an artist, you want to take advantage of that open avenue that can deliver your music right into the ears of listeners within your sub-niche. Not only that, but most of the shows have web sites, like we do here at A.V.A Live Radio that will host your photo’s and buy music links for the listeners to easily find you. I talk alot about how to do this, what to look for when selecting stations and how to approach them in the A.V.A Musicians Workbook coming out this fall. Be sure to get on the mailing list so you won’t miss the launch of this amazing workbook that walks you through the step by step daily routines of developing your music career and building a strong, supportive and engaged fan base. Signup now: http://eepurl.com/vKMbX

Who is ready to plan an internet radio tour?
You should only spend time on promotional things once you have the following things in order:
1) Your music is perfect with quality recordings and at least one album released and ready to sell.
2) You have a smashing web site with your own .com for people to visit

3) You have set up at least one social media account in your band name (ie. twitter, facebook, reverbnation)
4) You have a mailing list established with a service like (wordpress or mail chimp) and the signup is front and center on your web site and all social media pages.
5) You have carefully thought out what you would like to say and how you can quickly and easily deliver your message when you are interviewed. This should include who you are as an artists, your latest news, upcoming tour, video or music release and your web site/ social media pages.

I hope I got you thinking more about internet radio and why it is an important avenue for you to consider, cultivate and add to your PR schedule. – Jacqueline Jax (Host of www.AvALiveRadio.com)

Hot Topic: 3 Tips to Preventing Burnout from Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer

20130711-152049.jpg

UPDATE: Marissa Mayer was named chief executive officer of Yahoo Inc. July 16, 2012.

Many entrepreneurs don’t even think twice when it comes to working around the clock. Marissa Mayer, Google’s 20th employee and current vice president of location and local services (now CEO of Yahoo Inc July 16,2012), is no exception. When Google was a young company, she worked 130 hours per week and often slept at her desk.

“For my first five years at Google, I pulled an all-nighter every week,” Mayer said in a recent talk at New York’s 92Y cultural center. “It was a lot of hard work.”

Hard work, she says, has been the key to Google’s success, as well as her own.

For young companies that demand so much of their employees, hard work can spiral into burnout. Learning to prevent it–for yourself and your employees–is essential to your success as a business owner. Here are three steps to get started:

Step 1. Watch for signs of resentment.
“Burnout is about resentment,” Mayer told the audience at 92Y. “[Preventing it is] about knowing yourself well enough to know what it is you’re giving up that makes you resentful.”

Her assessment is right on target. “The question is whether you can replenish your energy when you get tired,” says Michael Leiter, professor of psychology at Acadia University in Nova Scotia. If you can’t restore your energy or resolve your values conflict with your work, you feel exhausted, cynical, and discouraged–the hallmarks of burnout.

Related: 3 Postures to Boost Productivity Now

Step 2. Find your rhythm.
Mayer’s theory is that you need to figure out what your “rhythm” is, meaning the activity that matters so much to you resentment sets in when you can’t do it. In Leiter’s words, it’s the activity that restores your energy. That might mean sleeping eight hours a night, practicing yoga daily, or getting out in nature once a week. Whatever it is, it’s essential to your satisfaction, so don’t skip it.

“People–particularly entrepreneurs–can put in huge amounts of energy and time,” Leiter says. “Overwork doesn’t burn people out per se, but it’s doing that without knowing the things that replenish you.”

Related: A Secret to Creative Problem Solving

Step 3. Grant employees one must-have freedom.
When Mayer suspects an employee might burn out, she asks them to find their rhythm. They’ve come back with, “I need to be home for Tuesday night dinners,” or “I need to be on time for my daughter’s soccer games.” She grants those needs–no exceptions.

“You can’t have everything you want,” Mayer cautions. “But you can have the things that really matter to you. That empowers you to work really hard for a long period of time on something that you’re passionate about.”

Hot Topic Tuesday: Top 10 Tips For Better Time Management

Hot-Topic-Tuesday-Time-Mana

This weeks Hot Topic Tuesday comes directly from our online community focusing on one very important question as shared after Thursdays “Marketing Tip of the Day: Striking a Balance, When To Engage and When To Work”.

Question submitted by singer Michael Egleton

michael egletonMs. Jax,
This is right up my alley! I tried handling email every few days and with the amount of emails that stack up in a few days, it seem like it’s even more work. Yes, it has cut deeply into my creativity time and my personal life. Sometimes other areas of my life go lacking and I do hear about it from my wife!!!!! lol With this said, I handled the wife part by agreeing to a certain block of time for the computer, which can take up time and included her in what I’m doing to allow her to see first hand, what’s going on. Now she understands a little more about this part of things. Now I’m working towards cutting back the other time, which I have let get away from me. How do I get it back? I haven’t fished in so long, I’ve forgotten how to even set up my pole! lol – Thanks Ms. Jax

Hi Michael,
I hear your struggle and I experience it myself all the time. As my ideas for projects flow, my brand grows and the weeks get more demanding, I find that my time gets divided more and more until I have to stop the process for some reflective evaluation.
Over the years I’ve tried many balancing methods, organizing books and time saving tips but even if you perfect the art of time saving, it really comes down to is this, one simple statement… Stop competing with yourself and start factoring in the things that allow you to relax, recharge your batteries and leave you feeling inspired…..

When your building your own brand and marketing your projects online it’s really easy to focus on the short term while loosing sight of the whole picture. Let me give you some key points that may help to ease your stress and get you back on track.

Be realistic: Learning how to market and build a brand is a commitment. It takes focus, passion, determination and time. Although you may have the first three traits in order, the time factor isn’t what you think. By time I mean you must consider your brand as a business that will evolve and strengthen over time with your consistent steady effort. It’s important to be realistic about your goals. If you set really challenging ones that don’t leave you with any time to enjoy your life, then your just being way to hard on yourself.

Thanks for the great question and honest comment. Jacqueline Jax – Host of www.AvALiveRadio.com

Top 10 Tips For Better Tip Management
1) Prepare: Being prepared for the day ahead is key to staying focused and not loosing your mind. Creating a task list for the next day the night before will help you relax, sleep better and clear your mind so you can get some much needed rest. I start to prepare my task list at 6pm before I stop working and after I’ve finished email. Keep you task list handy so you can add things before you go to bed or in the morning while your getting ready for you day.

2) Schedule Your Time: Use a day planner to schedule in time to live your life. Your day planner should have time blocked out for each of your tasks as well as appointments, social media and email. Most importantly don’t forget to schedule in breaks, meals and free time. By creating a schedule you’ll not only feel more in control of your time, you’ll feel more in control of your life. This is what my typical day looks like: 7-8am wake up coffee and email :: 8-9am get ready workout :: 9-10am breakfast with my family :: 10-12pm work :: 12-1 pm lunch with friends :: 1-3pm work :: 3-4pm break, walk :: 4-5pm email :: 5-6pm work :: 6-6:30pm Make my schedule for tomorrow :: 6:30pm on free time… (Dinner, social media, play time) 10pm get to bed.

3) Start Early: Have you ever noticed that successful people all tend to go to bed early and wake up early? To be on your game, calm and thinking clearly you must arrange your life so that you get enough sleep. Typically I need 8hours for my best self to shine through but you have to do what works best for you. Just keep this in mind, your head is clearest and able to handle the most difficult tasks early in the day when your rested. Late risers tend to be sluggish and slower at accomplishing tasks over the coarse of the day so consider that fact if your playing or working late into the evening. Eventually that schedule will catch up with you.

4) Get Organized: Being organized helps you to find things, think clearly and stay focused. If your looking for things all the time and unable to remember what your supposed together done, you’ll drive yourself crazy and waste a ton of time. Get yourself a system that works for you and stick with it. I use a day planner for details and daily tasks, huge monthly calendar where I can write an over view, and legal pads or my iPad to write my articles, interview questions, and stories. To keep everything organized I have a filing cabinet and files that hold my papers on previous or future topics and projects so when I need to refer back to my notes like “Top 10 Twitter tips” I can find them in an instant.

5) Prime Time: Its really important that you get in touch with your most productive time of day. If mornings are your most productive, then schedule your most difficult tasks in the mornings. By Scheduling your most difficult tasks during this time, you’ll breeze through it and be able to stay focused. Just be careful to consider the accessibility of others if they are required to complete your tasks. You don’t want tone held up waiting for others in order to finish what you started.
Watch the Clock: Even if you have to use a timer, it’s important to take breaks when your supposed to in order to avoid project fatigue. My best example for this is during video edits. Video editing is always a task that takes longer than expected so even if I can’t finish, I always put it away when I’m supposed to so that when I can come back to it, I’m fresh and more productive.

6) Social media time: Handling your social media postings is supposed to be fun but if you have really popular pages it can get to be a time consuming task getting back to everyone and keeping your pages updated. I recommend checking on your pages during the most active times and on specific days. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays join in on Twitter and add new content to Facebook for 15 min mornings or evenings. Tuesday and Thursday respond to blog comments 30 minutes. Fridays: spend 1 hour analyzing your traffic at your blog or website.

7) Auto posting: This is such an amazing way to automatically feed valuable content to your social media pages. Most blog builder sites like WordPress and tumblr have an auto post setting that will share your posts automatically to your social media feeds. Be sure to make sure that you pages auto feed to at least one other social media page. For instance, when I post an article on my WordPress blog I have it set so it automatically sends that post out to my Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn, tumblr and reverbnation page. This is a terrific way to make sure that you are keeping all your social media pages up to date.

8) Keeping Notes: one of my best time saving tips that I use constantly is keeping notes. I have a legal pad that I keep by my side and of coarse my phone for jotting down ideas. It really helps when I’m ready to update my social media pages with content, when I need to remember ideas I had for articles, and especially when I need to remember those amazing ideas I have lying in bed at night. LoL

9) Relax: I saved one of the best for last. Incorporating the word “Relax” into my thoughts and actions is very important to me. When you have a very busy schedule and lots of people in your life, it really helps to know yourself and recognize when it’s time to relax. Keeping your calm is essential to staying productive because if you have a melt down, consider yourself out for the count. Melt downs cause your brain to freeze and slide your body into an intense exhaustion that kills your creativity and renders you incapable of making good decisions. So do yourself a favor, remind yourself that your life is not a race, your building a life you’ve always dreamed of and you are in total control of your schedule. It is only as busy as YOU allow it to be.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Ideas For Selling More Music Online

Marketing Tip of The Day: Ideas For Selling More Music Online
In today’s music world, it’s just not enough to create great music. You have to get moving on your promotion just like any business owner. Here are some ways to generate more music sales long term with a little work and a ton of creativity.

20130315-004114.jpg
1) Create an iTunes playlist : iTunes allows you to publish playlists that you create. The playlists can be rated from 1-5 stars by other customers, and top rated playlists appear on the page for every album that has a song in the playlist. If your songs are included in a top ranking playlist, you will definitely see more sales.

20130315-004726.jpg
2) Video Bloggers : youtube bloggers are always seeking royalty free music or permission to play songs in their videos. The key is to find video bloggers who have millions of fans matching your target audience. Offer a page with one free download (provided they include a link to purchase) and a list of songs for sale that you are willing to let them play on their videos. They will not only love to have great music for their videos, you’ll certainly be getting a ton of awesome exposure for the life of the video.

20130315-005422.jpg
3) Movies and Commercials: Have you ever seen a movie or commercial that isn’t filled with music? You wouldn’t believe how many movies and commercials get made every year and its easier than you think to introduce yourself to a new production company or get listed with an agent. DIY: Subscribe to our station (www.AvALiveRadio.com) and get your music played on New Music Monday and join LinkedIn and start connecting with groups in the movie biz. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you may find.

20130315-005711.jpg
4) Compilation Projects: I have spoken with tons of producers who are making a killing with compilation CDs. They get music from different artists and promote the CD online by genre such as Dance Party or Country Mix. The CDs not only sell thousands of copies, all the artists on them gain fans individually and sell additional tracks.

I hope these tips are helpful and get you thinking about creative ways to up your exposure and music sales. If you think of a great idea, leave it in the comment section below. I would love to hear it.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Instagram, A Traffic Driver???

20130408-092151.jpg

Would you ever think that Instagram was a traffic driver for drawing attention to your blog posts, newsletters and web pages?
Instagram allows you to build followers, share pictures, promote photographs with hash tags, and of course conversation through the comment feature. What you may not realize is that its also a powerful tool for networking such as building blog followers, networking, driving traffic, meeting like-minded bloggers, etc. While there is no real way to link directly to your posts in Instagram, it’s always great to let your followers there know you have new content. You can easily do this with a photo.

Here’s the plan:
1) Take a screen shot or photo of what your working on.
2) Post it on instagram along with a question or comment describing the picture and be sure to include your web address.
3) Since your link won’t be clickable, keep it short and you may even want to watermark your photo with your .com
4) Hash tag some keywords in your description so your photo will show up in Instagram searches.

Don’t forget to share your Instagram posts to your twitter and Facebook media pages as well for additional traffic and to let your friends know where you can be found.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Don’t Put We Ahead of You and Me

Email marketing
Just in case you were wondering what address you should use when speaking to your readers, here is one thing you should avoid at all costs. Unless your speaking for a group of people or a band, emails or any other marketing materials opening with the word “we” should be avoided. Your readers want to hear from you, not we… Prospects don’t care about the company behind the product or offer until they are in company evaluation mode.. In lead generation it’s OK to mention who the company is and include a brief statement of its expertise or focus, but that copy should appear after the offer and call to action have been made clear.
As a rule, speak to your people like your speaking to a friend. Use a comfortable and relaxed attitude that will appeal to your target market.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Don’t Give Up, Just Follow Through

Marketing Tip of The Day: Don’t Give Up, Just Follow Through

Its so easy to get discouraged with online marketing. You may have set a goal in January to start a daily blog or made plans to update your website weekly and as February rolled around, you found yourself less than motivated. Perhaps, it was your lack of traffic or to few responses. But I’m here to encourage you with two helpful tips to get you back on track before the first quarter of our year has passed us by.
1. Set a writing schedule today. Get a calendar and set aside 1-2 hours per week to update your blog/web site. That’s not alot of time if your looking at the big picture. Use a note pad during the week to jot down reminders of what you should talk about or get done during your update. That will help you save time, focus and stay motivated when it’s time to update.
2. Next make a point to share your updates somehow on your social media pages every time your there. This way people will remember to go check it out and if you do it regularly, you’ll build a following.

Always remember, it’s discouraging to readers when you don’t post updates, plus it makes your company or brand look lazy and uninteresting. Instead, treat your web site or blog like a professional means of communication and be consistent. Even if it’s just once a week, maintaining frequency will keep readers engaged and create lots of searchable content to get you found.

If you found my tip helpful, please share it with someone on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn or email.

Marketing Tip of the Day: Trash The Boring Sales Pitches

Jacqueline_Jax_branding_success

Marketing Tip of the Day: Trash The Boring Sales Pitches

We are all so bored with sales pitches that most emails get trashed without a glance. Change your focus from sales-pitches to education-based emails. Ask yourself, are you more likely to read an email that offers helpful tips or information rather than a traditional sales hype? If your answer is yes, then your already grasping the concept.
You can easily display your offers within the first paragraph just by focusing on what makes your product useful or relevant. Then shape the rest of the email around it with helpful information that your reader will enjoy and hopefully keep to refer back to.
If your selling a CD, then tell the reader the story of how it was made. Include an interesting event that happened during the creation process and show pictures to support the story. If your selling a product used in cooking, include a recipe for which your product is needed and provide a helpful link to purchase it along with receiving three free recipes.
Make sure your email title is interesting and informative to attract the readers attention and let them know what they are about to read. Be sure to use keywords that will help people find your email easily. Finally, post each email to a blog (linked in your email) so your great work can keep working for you and google can add it to its search results to attract even more readers.

Now that you have a concept to help you start writing better emails, send it to me. I’ll give you my honest opinion and if its awesome, I’ll share it with my readers.

Marketing Tip of the Day: Value Your Relationships

Jacqueline_Jax_branding_success

Marketing Tip of the Day: Value Your Relationships
Social media has shown us the value of our personal relationships. If you view your clients or followers as just clients then you will never be able to enjoy all that comes with friendships. Support, encouragement, help, honesty, contributions, and word of mouth. When you have a project, brand or product to build or sell, it’s always better to surround yourself with a team that supports you. But to have truly valuable relationships that WILL support you, you must be willing to treat each one of those relationships in the same way you would like to be treated. That means taking time to answer comments and emails and supporting their lives and projects in the same way, you wish to have support. Solid relationships are about sharing in each others good days and bad days. This is what we like about Facebook. It’s real time sharing and real time support. There is always someone there who knows you and knows your story as painted on your page. We all take some comfort in that. If you take that reality and place it into your marketing campaigns, then you will have the help and support that you need. Today’s brand isn’t about a one sided relationship, it’s about building a brand that cares about people.

Marketing Tip of the Day: Driving Traffic Using Social Media

Marketing Tip of the day: Driving Traffic Using Social Media

Social media is not only a terrific way to meet new people with similar interests, it’s also a terrific way to let people know about your projects, events, and products. Doesn’t it make sense that if your putting your personal life online, you should also be letting people know about your work related activities?

The easiest way to drive customers to your company is by linking to social channels in email campaigns, newsletters, group articles and blogs. Set up a social media page for your company and talk about it on your personal pages so people who already know you can support you, share your projects with their friends, and give you some honest feedback. This will definitely help your business to get exposure to a wider audience and further contribute to your online credibility. After all, we all have jobs so why not talk about it.

Marketing Tip of the Day: Those Crazy Web Stats

Jacqueline_Jax_branding_success

Marketing Tip of the day:
Hi Everyone,
I’m back with my marketing tip of the day and its about web stats. When it comes to web stats, don’t overwhelm yourself with too much data. Pick a handful of metrics to follow and compare them to other similar points on previous months or days. Look at click-throughs, exit pages and time spent on the site. If your not holding the attention of your reader for longer than 1 page, consider adding a short list of “Other Articles I Recommend” at the end of every blog post. Many times, people don’t have an easy time looking around, especially on phones so make it easier for your readers to connect with other articles you’ve written by linking them in your post and mentioning them below your post. That way the reader can find links right on a vertical slide as they scan down the page.

That’s my marketing tip of the day.
