These days everyone has ideas but very little money to try them out. I’m going to give you the best free blogging resources that I’ve discovered and personally used currently available on the Internet. These blogging tools will get you up and going in very little time with no money involved and without you having to learn about advanced web building code.
Here are three terrific free blogging providers.
1) WordPress: I use WordPress for several web site blogs (www.AvALiveRadio.com , www.BlondiBeach.com , www.JaxCouture.com) I’m inviting you to take a careful look at them so you can see the terrific free template designs available on the WordPress system. WordPress has its own community of serious writers of every niche that you can interact with. Sign up is easy with the site by choosing a name for your blog, entering your information, username, password and email. Then watch some easy setup videos (here) to learn about using their templates, widgets and tools. WordPress does have advertising limitations when hosting your blog on their web sight for free but if you decide to use your own .com and use WordPress but host it yourself, there are no limitations on selling advertising on your pages.
2) Blogger: I have used blogger and liked what they had to offer. About half the fashion, beauty and personal bloggers today use blogger. This platform is integrated with Google Adsense, which can make you a little cash on the side if your blog becomes popular. But before you get crazy seeing $$$ signs, consider that it takes at least 1 year for you to start building a following and Google adsense pays a very small percentage so you need tons of traffic to make a decent dollar. On the downside, Blogger doesn’t offer much in the way of customization like wordpress. its a very basic interface that requires more knowledge of HTML and CSS to change up your web site.
3) Tumblr: I have a tumblr (Jacqueline Jax Daily- here) that I love to use for notes and uploading daily photos. Tumblr is simple to use and a clutter free platform. It’s much different from the other two because it has very few personalization features, but the simple interface is easy to use and works alot like facebook in the way that people frequent the feed and can repost and like your posts easily.

Reviews are important. We make shopping decisions and measure credibility by feedback that we see online. You cannot please everyone all the time and even the best of the best receive some negative reviews. But did you realize that one negative review on your sales page can damage your brand and stop sales significantly. In this case, silence is your worse enemy. If a customer writes a negative review and there is no response from you, it can be interpreted that you don’t care about your customers satisfaction or concerns. Instead, neutralize a bad online review by contacting the customer privately to work through the issue. Meanwhile, proactively ask happy customers to write positive reviews for you.
Note: If someone has left you negative articles online via web page the best way to counter those reviews is to publish good content on the web to get stronger search results. Search engines will move most recent articles to the front of the searches so by posting newer articles you will move the bad reviews further out of the way.

Finding your voice online can be tricky. You want to be yourself but sometimes finding topics to discuss or deciding how to write about your topics takes a little more thought. During my last few years writing 4 blogs and expressing myself on social media, I have learned that there are some key things that helped me stay focused on being myself while still succeeding in getting my message across to my readers. Here’s what is working for me.
5 Key Things to Know:
1) Keep a Notebook: writing down notes and thoughts when I have them has helped me so much in both discovering my voice and organizing what I want to say. By having notes to refer to as I write my newsletters, blog or messages its makes better use of my time and keeps me focused on the message leaving me free to be myself and let my personality show.
2) Stay True To Yourself: take some time to discover your passions and what motivates you. You’ll never go wrong if you express yourself with honesty. Find interesting and creative ways to express yourself with a style that will appeal to the readers you want to attract. If your a visual person, then use alot of pictures to illustrate your points. If your gifted with words then share in forms that mean something to you like poems, short stories, diary entries, song lyrics, commentary, etc.
3) Share Your Opinion: the best way to get reactions from your readers is to share your opinions on things. Don’t be afraid to express how you feel about topics or something that’s happening in your life. By opening up you’ll find people who agree and disagree but either way any response is a great indicator of how well your writing. When you have managed to so your unique self, people always respond.
4) Be Brave: Typically the best and most fascinating blogs or articles are the ones that express with a passion. Don’t be afraid to try different things or show who you are by expressing your unique self. If you constantly hold back, you won’t enjoy yourself and neither will your readers.
5) Have Fun: Writing is a form of expression and creativity that is supposed to be for your enjoyment. By getting in touch with what makes it fun for you, you’ll create a space that not only you will enjoy creating but your readers will enjoy as well and want to visit often.
Tweet able : “Be fascinating and you’ll be remembered!”

Whether you’re an Internet Marketer or a businesswoman promoting her business on the Internet, you want your brand to stand out from the crowd. The ultimate marketing goal is to have your target market think of you, and your company, when they are ready to buy.
Here are 10 ways you can make sure your customers and target market think of you and your brand first when they are on the Internet looking to purchase what you are offering.
1. Provide great customer service.
Today’s customers are looking for guarantees, prompt turn around time and exceptional service after the sale. When making an Internet purchase, customer service can often become a major factor in the final buying decision.
2. Develop a heart-felt story that speaks to why you are in business.
Your Internet clients and customers, as with all clients and customers, want to know, like and trust you. I believe your target market needs to accept you as the person behind the brand before they will buy what you are offering.
3. Work to keep your name in front of your market.
I believe in the saying “out of sight and out of mind.” Here’s a fact of Internet business life: If you are not consistently reminding your target market that you are actively doing business, they will forget about you and go elsewhere.
4. Provide value – exceed their expectations.
Providing on-going value to your target market is vital to better brand recognition and becoming the well-respected “go-to” person in your field. Are you offering webinars, teleconferences or classes to your market?
5. Regularly send tips and how to’s in either a newsletter or email.
I’ll say it again, “Out of sight, out of mind.” If you aren’t regularly staying in touch with your customers and/or target market, you’re going to lose business.
6.Write a blog.
One way to help your target market know, like and trust you is to write a blog that informs, entertains and educates. The key to a successful blog is consistency. You develop a loyal following by regularly providing blog posts that offer quality information and ongoing value to your target market.
7. Develop, produce and host a Blog Talk Radio show.
You can increase your rating as an “expert” and reach a broader market by developing a free Internet radio show on Blog Talk Radio. An added benefit to hosting your own show is that once the show is recorded, you can download it to your blog or website.
8. Host a Facebook Group.
Another free marketing resource for your current Internet customers is inviting them to participate in a Facebook Group. In your Facebook Group, participants can share tips, ask questions and network with one another. The benefit to you is that you can stay in touch with your target market in “real-time.”
9. Write a book.
If you regularly write blog posts or newsletter articles, you have the makings of a book. It is easy and inexpensive to write an Amazon.com Kindle book or self-publish using a service such as CreateSpace.
10. Use the same photo/logo in all your marketing materials.
This tip seems obvious but is often overlooked. Be consistent in your branding. Use the same photo and logo on your blog, e-signature, newsletter banner and all other forms of Internet communication. It’s one additional way you’ll be instantly recognizable to your target market.

Post and email titles really do determine response rates. Since its so important to your success, I thought you may enjoy these ideas for writing snappy post titles.
1) Ask a question:
Asking questions is a great way to pique someone’s curiosity. It also opens up your post for discussion and engagement is the key to a successful blog, website or post.
2) Solve a problem:
Say you have the answer everyone is looking for… where to find the best deals, how to find the perfect…., if your posts solves a problem, reflect that in the post title so you put your most important foot forward.
3) Stir a controversy:
Drama, drama, drama. Controversy will either be great for your web site or blow up in your face, but either way, if you have a controversial point of view it will get people talking and hopefully sharing.
4) Includet a number:
Numbers work and so do percentages. Would you be more interested in reading a post that says ,”My Top 10 Twitter Tips for 100% Successful Tweets” or “My Twitter Tips for Successful Tweets”. Close but really no contest….right? LoL…

I know you’ve heard it before but search engine optimization is important. When you are trying to drive traffic to a website, the best and cheapest way to do so is through search engine traffic. Paying someone to do the work for you, isn’t a bad idea but that still won’t guarantee results. It all depends on finding the right keywords that will not only attract the right clients to your company or brand but will also be keywords that people are searching for.
Keywords and keyword phrases are the terms readers are entering into search engines, such as Google to find things.
Here are some quick Tips, that with help you to use SEO keywords to get traffic to your website.
1) Use Google Keywords : Google has a Keyword Tool called “sktool” which allows you to search keywords and see how many people are looking for particular topics, and how competitive the keywords are. (Try it here)
2) Write content on your website that utilizes the selected SEO keywords liberally. You want to use the keywords often in your writing, while not changing the meaning of the content or having it read unnaturally. You should include the SEO keywords at least twice per paragraph but be careful not to spam the same ones over and over.
3) Add the SEO keywords into other areas of your website. Not only should the SEO keywords be in your written content, but it should be in the titles, meta titles, meta descriptions, image descriptions, link tags and anywhere else you can showcase your keywords. So the next time your saving a photo, use your name and keywords in the title.
4) Keep an eye on which SEO keywords are driving traffic to your website. After a while, you can figure out which SEO keywords you should concentrate on and which ones aren’t worth the time and effort by checking your website or blog stats.
Question:
What are your favorite SEO Keyword tips? Do you have a question or comment? Leave it below…..

Do you know what your return rate is on your marketing campaigns? Any good marketing strategist thinks about return rate on their time invested in advertising before going in and as the campaign progresses. So the question is, what can you expect and how do you improve your response rate? On average you can expected about a 1% response rate on any good marketing campaign. Some industries may give you a higher or lower return because there are so many variables but it usually takes time, consistency and credibility as a brand to evolve past that 1%.
Let me give you an example to think about. If you send an email to 1,000 followers and 10 people react then you have just received a 1% response rate on your campaign. This rate is considered a successful rate in advertisers standards however, we all know that’s simply not good enough. Improving your rate has alot to do with variables like: quality of content within your campaign, brand credibility and strong relationships within your subscribers list. If you can improve those 3 factors, then you will surely be on your way to a much larger return rates on your advertising time invested.
Question:
So what campaigns have you tried and how was your return rate? If you have advise to share, please comment below. Also feel free to tell me about online tools you’ve used and liked. (ie : Mail chimp, wordpress blogs, reverbnation newsletters, facebook pages, twitter… etc)

Join host Jacqueline Jax as she answers some of your most asked questions about personal branding and music marketing.
Question:
Michael : I’ve listened to the webnar 3 times and each time it has come back to my blogging abilities. Ms Jax to be honest I don’t know what I’m doing there. I have someone handling my website and keeping that where it’s supposed to be but blogging….. lol I don’t know whats interesting, what to write that will draw people in, and the rest that comes with that. I’ve been blogging every night through Reverbnation.com all of my site are synced there to reach FB, my web site and others. So when I blog it hits them all. www.reverbnation.com/michaelegleton
Jacqueline: Great question Michael.. I actually wrote about this once on the marketing tip of the day… We talk alot about how to market great content but rarely do I find anyone instructing on how to create excellent content that may be more attractive to your readers, friends, fans, etc. so here are some ideas for you.
1) Make it interactive. Include a quick poll relating to your industry topic. Allow your readers to participate and be heard. Don’t forget to include a share button to pass it along to a friend.
2) Share your views on topics. Industry related or other things. Express an opinion about your topic of interest, similar to what bloggers do. If your company has a blog, this is a great place to link to your latest post. If you have a music page, lead your topic into a reason to listen to one of your songs or watch your video. If you sell products, include a link where you can buy a product that supports your opinion…. listen to the show for more….
3) Have fun. Don’t make your news all about business 24-7. Share a joke, a funny picture or a funny story. If you a musician, share some pictures from your last recording session or performance and tell the story like a diary entry. If your a blogger, switch things up and be creative by writing about something whimsical that strikes your interest today. If your an artists, how about a cool how to or DYI Sunday project. You don’t have to share every day. Start with once a week and add in days as you get inspired.
4) Use a note pad during the week to jot down reminders of what you should talk about or get done during your update. That will help you save time, focus and stay motivated when it’s time to update.
Question
Carrie -Ohio:
Hi Miss Jax. I love your show and have been trying to do my best to be more active in my pages. People have been trying to access my page from their phones and don’t get anything. Is there something I should be doing to make my web site able to be seen on mobile phones?
Jacqueline: Carrie you have a flash web site and you may not realize it when building with flash web tools but it doesn’t get seen by search engines well nor can you view it on phones so here are a few things to remember.
1) No Flash- Flash is cool in normal web browsers but it won’t display on many mobile devices. Try a wordpress page because its really easy to build in minutes, there is a music artists templets or hundreds of others and you can embed YouTube links and use a few brilliant images to make your statement.
2) Simplify Navigation- Links are not always easy to click on a smart phone, so keep your navigation simple.
3) Easy Read- try to keep the important information upfront and easy to find. Things like contact information, mission statements, product links or subscriber opt ins should be front and center.

Did you know that most fans decide to attend a show at the last minute? If this is the case, doesn’t it make sense that you should be promoting your events right up to the very last minute. Social media tools have really helped musicians reach their current and new fans in an instant. Take advantage of your reach by posting updates right down to the wire with pictures as you get ready to play your first note. Those kinds of social media posts will not only attract more people to your live shows, they will make your social media pages and blog more exciting.

Use HTML with Text Backup
While text-only newsletters were common a few years ago, times have changed, and most people prefer to receive their newsletters in HTML. But it’s still a good idea to have a text version as back up for the handful of recipients that cannot read email in HTML, or prefer text. Look for a program that will automatically create a text version with one click.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Start Thinking BiG About Sales
Build a business that lives and breathes on its own. Start thinking past your first sales goal and move into the future by designing yourself a business that will continue to earn money for you and handle thousands of clients without you having to be there. If your selling products, look into online fulfillment centers. If your a coach, think about writing e-books. If your a musician, use cd baby or reverbnation to sell music downloads on your website and send physical copies of your CDs, shirts, etc to a fulfillment center that offers fast free shipping and handles your customer care. The goal is to think big and get your sellable content prepared to service your clients fast and easy without the need for you to be personally involved in every transaction.

Marketing Tip of the Day: Managing Your Email List
The time for pen and paper is behind us. Collect email addresses with an app and your phone, iPad or computer. There are applications available that will allow you to seamlessly upload lists to your favorite email service. Configure your iPad or tablet with your logo, display it at your store or event table and ask your customers to enter their email address right then and there. Another great way to collect addresses is to keep your phone handy and add email addresses when you meet new people then use a free service like Mail Chimp or wordpress to start engaging your new friends.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Don’t Give Up, Just Follow Through
Its so easy to get discouraged with online marketing. You may have set a goal in January to start a daily blog or made plans to update your website weekly and as February rolled around, you found yourself less than motivated. Perhaps, it was your lack of traffic or to few responses. But I’m here to encourage you with two helpful tips to get you back on track before the first quarter of our year has passed us by.
1. Set a writing schedule today. Get a calendar and set aside 1-2 hours per week to update your blog/web site. That’s not alot of time if your looking at the big picture. Use a note pad during the week to jot down reminders of what you should talk about or get done during your update. That will help you save time, focus and stay motivated when it’s time to update.
2. Next make a point to share your updates somehow on your social media pages every time your there. This way people will remember to go check it out and if you do it regularly, you’ll build a following.
Always remember, it’s discouraging to readers when you don’t post updates, plus it makes your company or brand look lazy and uninteresting. Instead, treat your web site or blog like a professional means of communication and be consistent. Even if it’s just once a week, maintaining frequency will keep readers engaged and create lots of searchable content to get you found.
If you found my tip helpful, please share it with someone on Facebook, twitter, LinkedIn or email.

Marketing Tip of The Day: Define Yourself
On A.V.A Live Radio we do a show called “Game Changers” that profiles people who are excellent at carving out their own space in the universe. They know how to define that unique quality that sets themselves apart from all the rest and market that quality as a personal brand. They never give into excuses like, “I don’t have time” and “That’s already been done before”. The first step in building your own personal brand is to “Define Yourself”. Sit down today and make a list of your gifts and what you are good at. What makes you different from everyone else? Whether you sell a specific product, offer a common service, or just have a particular ability. Writing it down is the first step to take before you can share it with the world.

Question :: Michael Egleton : www.MichaelEgleton.com :: OMG! lol Ms. Jax! Thank you so, so much for your guidance and support. I was speaking to someone today about how you encouraged me and challenged me to do better in the presentation of myself and my music. When I receive sound advice I take it to heart and act on it with the best of my abilities and strength. I have great friends who are also lending their guidance to my career. I thank you so much for your expertise and not “sugar coating” anything. I have to be a certain way for the industry and you told me to step it up if I was serious about what I wanted to achieve in music and my career. I’ll be signing up for your webinar. My question is: Is there such a thing as a “Fast Track” when it comes to entertainment?
Answer: Jacqueline Jax : Radio Host http://www.AvALiveRadio.com ::
Dear Michael, I looked at your web site and I have to say that I am so proud and excited that I have had some influence on your design and movement forward. I love your new web site and cant wait to see your pages continue to evolve. Terrific job!!! As far as the “Fast Track” . If your looking for a faster way to break into the “BIG TIME”, there is a thing we like to call “Paying Dues” that is absolutely necessary to any top professional. The reason for this is that it takes time to perfect your skills in any profession but all the wonderful things you discover along the way just make you that much smarter and savvy. You will need that education in order to make good career choices as you advance forward. Hard work on your part, will certainly pay off for you but learn to work smart. Always carry your business cards and a press card or CDs with you and constantly tell people about your music. Ask them to come support your new projects, your new web site, come to see you play… You have lots of things to self promote. Do lots of marketing online using my daily tips and always answer comments and emails. I can say that money moves a career forward alot faster but not always in a good way that will sustain a lasting career. Financial resources will just allow you to higher the right team of people to work for you in brand building and promotion so you don’t have to do it all by your self. But remember this… the more people you have in your life, the more complicated it will become so always learn tasks yourself first and then higher out so you know what your looking for in an employee and also so you can help them to work smart.
Question :: Moe BellaGloria : moebigbandsinger.wix.com/sinatraman66 :: I am looking for the next big step for may career, an agent, a manager, so my question is, where would you suggest I search through? Thank you.
Answer: Jacqueline Jax : Radio Host www.AvALiveRadio.com ::
Hi Moe. First let me thank you for subscribing to our show and becoming a loyal listener. Great question. The internet is a wealth of resources at your figure tips but many people like yourself, just haven’t had the time to look around. So one of the things A.V.A Live Radio likes to do is share resources and work as a guide through the different platforms available. Once you have your web site designed, music in order, CD launched, video’s of your live performances and photographs perfected, only then should you consider taking the next step- building your team. An agent/ manager can help you take your career to the next level but only if you have a solid foundation for them to use. You can’t rely on anyone to do it for you unless you are ready to pay them big money for their work. Two important things I would do to start looking for that perfect manager is:: Subscribe to www.AvALiveRadio.com and listen to the shows to get more in touch with our music community. Featured artists talk about their managers all the time giving you a great recommendation. Plus the web page also send emails to the subscribers announcing management who are looking for talent and other great music career opportunities. Second, I would set up a Linkedin profile and join all the music industry groups you can find. Post a discussion on what your looking for sharing your links, contact information and pages and then start reading and participating in the other discussions. Once you have found a few solid choices, send your press package and a personal letter to the manager telling them why you would like them to manage you. And most importantly note THEIR strengths that you have observed while deciding to ask them for their help.
